Solution

# Agent spend grows every month and you cannot see why. *See it. Cut it. One bill.*

Every request passes Context Mode, so the console shows each one's tokens, cost and saving. In our test, a long session saved $4,715 per 1,000 sessions at list price.

Your question

What does it cost? Can we spend less? What do we pay?

Which agent request cost what?

Today

- One total on the model bill
- No view of each request
- No saving to measure

Through Context Mode

- Live: each request as it happens
- Tokens, cost and saving for each request
- Analytics: cost and saving over time

The console shows this for the requests on your account. On Codex, part of the saving is not counted yet.

Your team runs 1,000 long sessions. What do you save?

```
Saved at list price: $4,715 per 1,000 sessions
one 30-step session on Claude Opus 5.5
4 of 4 paired runs cost less
```

Measured in paired runs. The method is on the benchmarks page.

On Team: the pool runs out. What happens?

```
Team pool: 50,000 requests a month per seat
Budget: set by the team owner
At the limit: paused for the team until next month
Requests go straight to the model.
No error and no refused request.
Paused: Context Saving, Thinking in Code,
Memory and Skills
Stays on: Protect's Core protections
```

The budget sets what you pay us, not the model bill. Your own Anthropic or OpenAI account pays the model. We add no fee on tokens.

The problem

## The bill goes up. *No one can say why.*

**No view**

Each engineer's agent talks to the model alone. The bill shows a total, not what each request cost.

**No single bill**

Plans are bought one person at a time, each with its own bill and its own limit.

**No shared rules**

Agent permissions live in each client, on each laptop. A new hire starts with none.

How it works

## Every request passes one place. *You see and cut it there.*

1. 01 **Roll it out** Send each engineer one command: `npx @context-mode/cli`. From then on, their requests show in the console.
2. 02 **See and cut** The console shows each request's tokens, cost and saving. Context Saving folds long tool output before the model reads it.
3. 03 **One pool, one bill** On Team, the seats share one pool of requests and one bill. The owner sets the budget for what you pay us, and one Protect policy covers the org.

Every request passes Context Mode once. It records what the request cost, cuts what the model does not need, and counts it in one team pool. Your own Anthropic or OpenAI account pays the model. We add no fee on tokens.

Proof

## Lower spend, the same work. *Measured in paired runs.*

**$4,715** saved per 1,000 long sessions at list price, Claude Opus 5.5, 4 of 4 pairs cheaper

**155 of 168** shorter paired runs cost less, and 168 of 168 tasks succeeded in both arms

Paired runs of Claude Code direct and through Context Mode, each with a plan written before the first pair. The cost of one session is on [Cut agent spend](https://context-mode.com/solutions/cut-agent-spend). [Method and sources →](https://context-mode.com/docs/benchmarks)

What you control

## One plan per engineer, or one Team. *Same features.*

|  | Team | Pro, one per engineer |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Requests | 50,000 a month per seat, one pool | 50,000 a month for each person |
| Budget | Set by the team owner | Each person sets their own |
| Bill | One bill to the team owner, 2 seats or more | A bill for each person |
| Protect | One policy for the org; an agent cannot loosen it | Each person's own rules |
| At the limit | Paused for the team until next month | Paused until next month, or a budget you set |
| Model cost | Your own Anthropic or OpenAI account. We add no fee on tokens. | The same |

From [Pricing](https://context-mode.com/pricing) and [Plans and limits](https://context-mode.com/docs/plans-and-limits). At a limit your agents keep working: requests go straight to the model, Context Saving, Thinking in Code, Memory and Skills pause, and Protect's Core protections stay on. The budget sets what you pay us, not the model bill.

Products used

## What this *uses.*

**[Context Saving](https://context-mode.com/context-saving)**

Folds test, build and log output before the model reads it. Errors stay in full.

**[Console](https://context-mode.com/docs/quick-start)**

Live and Analytics: tokens, cost and saving for each request.

**[Protect](https://context-mode.com/protect)**

Checks every tool call before your terminal runs it. One policy for the whole org.

**[Team plan](https://context-mode.com/pricing)**

One pool of requests for every seat, and one budget the team owner sets.
